Cheridene Green
About Cheridene
In 2022 Cheridene Green made history by winning England’s very first silver 3x3 medal at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games with her teammates Shanice Beckford-Norton, Chantelle Handy and Hannah Jump.
The 30-year-old is known for her intelligence, physicality and professionalism, which she has applied to a varied and storied career.
She first picked up the game at the age of nine with London Towers under the guidance of coach Mick Lloyd, before continuing her development with Len Busch at Sevenoaks.
After heading to New York to attend junior college, Green would go on to make history as the first international player to sign for the University of Tennessee Lady Vols, one of the most recognisable institutions in the sport.
Her professional career has taken her across Europe, with stints in Poland for InvestInTheWest Enea Gorzów Wielkopolski and Hungary for DTKV Miskolc, where she won the Hungarian Cup and competed in both the EuroLeague and EuroCup Women – the highest level of European basketball.
From 2023-25, she played for her hometown team London Lions, and part of the squad that won the 23/24 EuroCup Women, before briefly signing for Israel’s Elitzur Ramla.
Heading into the 2026/27 season, new adventures await Green in Spain as she signs for Perfumerías Avenida Baloncesto.
Internationally, Green has been a key contributor for the GB programme since 2019 and was part of the historic squad that achieved a programme-best fourth-place finish at the EuroBasket Women 2019.
