Georgia Gayle

About Georgia

Sheffield’s finest Georgia Gayle is a product of the oldest professional basketball club in the UK, the Sheffield Hatters, started by her grandma, Betty Codona, in 1961.

She plays in the Women’s Super League Basketball, and as of most recently for the Hatters in the 2025/26 season, where they won an incredible quadruple, securing the league, the SLBW Cup, the Betty Codona Trophy – where Gayle was named MVP – and the Playoff Final. Gayle was also named in the British Team of the Year.

Heading into the 2026/27 season, she is currently unattached.

Her college career took her overseas to NCAA Division 1 University of Central Florida, where she was an integral member of the Knights set-up.

After returning from the states, Gayle turned professional, and apart from a stint in Spain with Nou Basquet Paterna, she has spent most of her career with her hometown team – where she has won numerous titles, including being named Playoff Final MVP in the 2024/25 season.

Gayle is also a seasoned Great Britain international, having competed in several of FIBA Women’s 5v5 tournaments and qualifiers, as well as 3x3.
