How it works

Each week, a standout player plus four other worthy selections will be put forward to make the Player and Team Of The Week in both D1W and D1M, paying attention to the following criteria:

  • Efficiency
  • Stats
  • Team and opposition strength
  • Periods of influence in the game
  • Being on a winning team (exceptional performances from players on losing teams will be considered for TOTW)

Players of the Week

Anglia Ruskin's Olivia Rangel is in unstoppable form right now, making it back-to-back POTW honours in the first three weeks of her debut WNBL season.

The American's latest outing was her best yet, recording a season-high of 33 points against Worcester to go with 15 rebounds and five assists. Hitting 65% of her shots was also a season-high, netting 13/20 attempts, as the Wisconsin continues her potential assault on the D1W record books.

Joining her was Manchester Magic's young forward Daniel Davies after he posted some eye-catching numbers in the 91-67 win over Liverpool.

The 22-year-old enjoyed an 18-point, 22-rebound double-double, adding six assists for good measure as he drained 60% of his attempts from the floor (6/10 FGs).

Davies +/- of +26 was also a game-high, further highlighting his impressive impact on the final score.

D1W Team of the Week

Olivia Rangel - Anglia Ruskin University (33pts, 15reb, 5ast, 44eff)

Cecilia Victorious - Barking Abbey (14pts, 11reb, 2ast, 2stl, 22eff)

Summer Eytle-Rock - London All Stars (7pts, 12reb, 2ast, 3stl, 16eff)

Janice Monakana - London Cavaliers (17pts, 12reb, 16eff)

Kaiya Bateman - Anglia Ruskin University (20pts, 6reb, 2ast, 4stl, 23eff)

POTW Rangel is joined by ARU team mate Kaiya Bateman, who played her best game since an off-season move from Ipswich as she put up solid numbers at both ends of the court against Worcester.

Cecilia Victorious was the driving force behind Barking's third win of the season, dropping an efficient 14 points to go with a game-high 11 rebounds, and Janice Monakana provided a similar double-double to help the Cavs to success against Brent.

Summer Eytle-Rock is this week's other pick. Whilst not offering as much offensive might as teammate Kat Goldsby, Eytle-Rock made up for it elsewhere with 12 rebounds (including five on offence, one of which led to the game's winning free throws), plus a trio of steals and two assists.

Honourable mentions

Dwayne Orija - Richmond Knights (26pts, 6reb, 2ast, 26eff, 7/10 3PT FGs)

Karl Teesdale - Gloucester City Kings (25pts, 6reb, 5stl, 32eff)

POTW Dan Davies wasn't the only one putting up serious numbers this weekend, with Cardiff guard Takeshi Croke dishing 12 assists to go with his 22 points and six boards.

Sable Cooper was in prime form for Barnet as he added six steals to a strong offensive outing, and Richmond's Dwayne Orija netted seven triples on his way to downing Cobham.

Gloucester City Kings' Karl Teesdale rounds out the five after his 25-point, six-rebound, five-steal effort to keep last year's D1M playoff finalists Worcester winless, going 4/7 from beyond the arc to boot.

Logan Ryan - Tees Valley Mohawks (20pts, 9reb, 7ast, 26eff)
